    Watford midfielder Edo Kayembe started for DR Congo as they got their African Cup of Nations campaign off to a winning start by beating Benin 1-0 in Rabat.

    The 27-year-old won his 37th cap for the The Leopards before being substituted in the 55th minute.

    DR Congo, who have twice lifted the title, won the game with a goal from Spartak Moscow winger Theo Bongonda after 16 minutes.

    Kayembe is one of two Watford players featuring at Afcon with forward Mamadou Doumbia part of the Mali squad.

    DR Congo are next in action on Saturday when they meet Senegal before completing the group stage against Botswana on Tuesday, December 30.
