JC Make It Three-In-A-Row In ISSA Hockey

The members of the Jamaica College (JC) Under-19 team are still celebrating after securing their third consecutive hold on the Inter-secondary Schools Association (ISSA) hockey title.
JC, whose team includes a number of national junior players, recorded a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Wolmer's Boys recently at Mona Hockey Astro Turf. JC had earlier secured their place in the final with a 4-0 victory over Campion College in the semi-finals.
National junior representative and captain of JC Jonte Johnson said hard work and dedication were the key factors which contributed to his team's success this season.
"Our success has come from our years of experience," said Johnson. "The team has been together for more than four years with only a few changes, so we have been able to address our areas of weaknesses.
"We are committed to winning, and we are the best team in the league," a very elated Johnson added.
Jermaine Osbourne and Orlando Rodney were the goalscorers for the Kemar Mitchell-coached JC, who trailed 1-0 at half-time. Rodney was voted Most Valuable Player of the championships.
Meanwhile, Mitchell said he was very delighted with his team's success this season.
"It's an awesome feeling to win three consecutive titles," said Mitchell. "This title was expected because we have been playing at a much higher level than the other teams in the competition," he said. "I think we put in a lot more work than our competitors, because we trained five times per week and our boys are very dedicated."

Paul Marin -19 is one thing, 20 is a whole other matter. It gets even worse if they win the UCL. *groan*.
