It is a bit tricky though. I am guessing that he really does not have a Racers contract since he is not receiving any earnings from his races. Racers coaches may be coaching him but that is not quite the same.

If he is not receiving a paycheck and his expenses are covered by the Anguillan govt while in JA, I don't think he is technically a professional athlete. One could even argue that he is no more a professional than the top athletes at other schools from disadvantaged conditions whose expenses are covered by alumni, etc.

I know, and a ton of athletes are being coached by some coach at one of these clubs.

But, if he actually lives in the club's dorm...that's a little different.

ISSA need to sort it out.

As for Penn Relays, don't see it being a problem. But I don't know the rules. I'm just thinking, once you're enrolled in a high school you're eligible.

But the question is, what's the big deal about winning Champs if that is how he in fact entered?

For me, if they're going to allow that, they might as well allow transfers outside of 6th form to participate without having to sit out for a year.

Blake joined Racers AFTER school. Danny wanted to keep him as a first Pro and he jumped ship for Mills.

All this fuss about Hughes running 10.12s at 18 when Blake ran 10.11s at 17 at Carifta in the Cayman Is.
