Calabar did not have a coach so the youths and their parents started looking for another team where they can get playing time, an education and a reasonable chance of a US College scholarship. I only hear about 4 from Calabar. What ever the number tell the new Calabar coach to teck lick and keep quiet.

Only 3 teams corporate area teams (Wolmer's, STGC and JC have won football cup since the current set of youths enter high schools. IF football cup is all you want then you go to JC. If you want a cup and scholarship then you go to Wolmer's or STFC.

ST JAGO High registered their second straight win, after clipping Calabar High 1-0 in the 2016 Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA)/FLOW Manning Cup Group G encounter at the Spanish Town Prison Oval yesterday.

The lone goal of the match was scored by Kirk Samuda in the 40th minute.

Winning coach Bobby Laing said he was very satisfied for the three points earned.

Losing coach Lijyasu Simms said his team did not play well in the first half but played a better second half, where they squandered numerous scoring chances.

“We are, however, at a disadvantage as we have lost nine of our best players from last season’s squad. Seven have gone to Wolmer’s, and one each to Bridgeport High and St Jago High, and this is now a building process of new players,” lamented Simms.

“I cannot work any miracle with the players, as some of them are playing Manning Cup for the first time. We just have to go back to the drawing board and forward for the next game,” Simms said.
