</TD></TR><TR><TD><SPAN class=Description>Peterkin. 113,000 Jamaicans will lose their jobs </SPAN></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><P class=StoryText align=justify>President of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association, Horace Peterkin joined the call for government's intervention and disclosed that his association would be mobilising members of the Caribbean Hotel Association to an emergency meeting to formulate a plan of action forward.<P class=StoryText align=justify>Peterkin pointed to a study commissioned over a year ago by the CHA showing that of the 188,000 jobs within the industry which would be lost because of the new passport requirement, Jamaica would account for 113,000.<P class=StoryText align=justify>"All along we thought the cruise ship industry was more or less partnering with us to get a decision in everybody's favour so we would all be moving together but now this is going to have an adverse effect on the land based industry," he complained.
