Several youths were taken into custody by the police during operations conducted in sections of St. James Thursday.

The first operation took place in volatile Salt Spring were four persons were murdered on Sunday.

Members of the special task force then went to Canterbury which is another community prone to violence.
Nearly 20 youths were taken into custody for processing during the nearly two-hour operation.

It could not be ascertained if any of the detainees were being sought for major crimes.

Lack of employment (I think) is the real cause for crime in Jamaica.

Lots and lots of idle hands

Not much is done for job creation.
