There are reports this morning of a possible swine flu case in The Bahamas.

Health Minister Hubert Minnis says the authorities are dealing with an individual who is said to exhibit flu-like Symptoms.

He is said to have recently returned from a visit to Mexico.

While declining to disclose the person’s identity, Mr. Minnis says the individual is receiving treatment at a private health clinic.

He says 12 other persons are now in quarantine.

The 12 – 10 students and two teachers – were placed under the watch of health authorities after news surfaced that they too recently visited Mexico.

Yesterday, the World HealthOrganisation raised the swine flu alert level to five signaling that a pandemic is imminent.
