Despite the lull in the world economy, the influx of tourist appears steady and rising.
Just returned from a 1 week stay at the Grand Palladium. My rating for the Hotel and Spa is a 3.999 out of 5.
Tourism will be the future for Jamaica's growth and development. There is much work that is need to this end. This includes tourism out of the All Inclusive setting..........
Jamaicas' tourism is labor intensive, it engages almost every aspect of local production and customer service.
Assasin I think you mentioned that Hotel Management should be a subject of study in schools. I fully agree.
That Jamaica Tourism: Resilient in the face of this recession-- is very true!!!

...turn out that mah cell fone dough werk in Jamaica...
Despite your wonderful experience at the hotel you mentioned, HL, the fact is that the competition that Jamaica faces in the Caribbean region is very strong and something to think seriously about! Despite the apparent successes under the hardworking and dedicated Minister Bartlett, we have a long way to go before anyone, other than ourselves, recognize Jamaica as a true leader in tourism.
