  • Haiti on my mind

I recall travelling with a national football team to Haiti in late 2007 and we had this driver who spoke almost no English but he had this old scratchy Bob Marley tape and he sung along with every single word; our contact guy there who we called 'Tap Tap' after the rickety taxis they have there and the wonderful front desk staff at the Hotel El Rancho and Pasqual thi lady I had lunch with one day at the hotel- just wondering if any of them are alive and how they are doing

Yeah i know that feeling. I remember staying a few nights at Marriott World Trade Center in NY about 2 months before 9-11 which was located right between the 2 towers. For a long time after that I wondered what was the fate of hotel workers I had talked to there, and of course never found out.
