  • Congress considering lifting Cuba Travel Ban

    The Bill has 178 co-sponsors.

For nearly 50 years, U.S. citizens have been restricted from traveling to Cuba (except under very limited conditions outlined by the U.S. government). Congress is now considering legislation (HR 874) that would remove these restrictions and allow all U.S. citizens to freely visit Cuba. The bill could pass and become law as early as this year.

As world travelers, we're excited by the prospect of exploring this unique, diverse, and culturally-rich Caribbean island. What about you? If the restrictions were removed, would you be interested in visiting Cuba?

Yes but Americans who want to go have been going there for years, they simply came here and take a flight.

Up to when I last went there the Immigration officer gave you an option whether or not you wanted a Cuban entry stamp in your passport

On my several trips there I have met many Americans there on business or pleasure...one guy i know who went to visit his pregnant girl friend had his passport and other documents stolen from his car but was able to get a replacement US passport from the Swiss Embassy only to find out in the back it said it was issued in Cuba.

So when he got back to Jamaica he made sure he 'lost' that passport and applied for a new one

as if the records would't show that he had one issued by the swiss embassy in cuba.....

anyway i believe many more do not go because of the restrictions than who go despite them
