'Obeah Man' stoned to death on St James

A man who was accused of working obeah was stoned to death in Flamstead, St James yesterday.
He has been identified as 55-five-year-old Vincent Williams, otherwise called ‘Farmer Brown, of Flamstead.
The Spring Mount Police reports that Williams was walking along the roadway when he was attacked by an angry mob which accused him of working obeah before proceeding to stone him.
Williams ran from the scene but was later found lying in a pool of blood. He was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Obeah is a form of Caribbean magic that has its ancient roots in Africa. It is very common throughout the West Indies, including Jamaica, Haiti, the Virgin Islands, Belize, Barbados, as well as Trinidad and Tobago.
