This is NOT marketing, this is the domain of purchasing and TechOps.

First question to ask is if dem mek dem mek dem owna movement? Normally movements are bought from ETA or Valjoux and in the old days, Zenith. Other than that it would be Swatch, but they dont supply outsiders nor does Zenith anymore.

To have a watch made with in-house movement, means that it would have to retail at $15k just to break even. A good automatic movement would cost less than $20 apiece at volume scale purchasing.

I doubt if any of the watches are truly custom. Likely modified from existing design or are prototypes of new lines coming out, so actual cost of the latter is irrelevant, as its R&D spend actually.

Dem have boutique manufacturers here that sell watches for half a mill, and most of the cost is in the ceramic work for the faceplate/case.
