The Jamaican dollar continued its decline against the US currency at the close of foreign exchange trading yesterday.
At the end of trading the Jamaican currency lost $0.10 to close at an average of J$92.34 to US$1, while the local dollar gained $0.25 against the Canadian to close at an average of J$93.20 and the British Pound closed at an average of J$148.48 to £1 after the Jamaican dollar gained $0.04. It is understood that the American dollar was being sold as high as J$95.81 amid high demand and scarce supply.
