  • Jamaican dollar crosses J$94.00 to US$1 mark

    The Jamaican dollar climbed to another record high today crossing the $94.00 mark amid high demand and low supply in the foreign exchange market.

    The Jamaican dollar lost $0.05 to finish trading at an average at $94.01 to US$1.00, the Jamaican dollar also lost $0.45 against the Canadian to close the day at an average of J$93.73 to CAN$1.00 while the British pound gained $0.55 to finish at an average of J$149.22 to £1. Yesterday some traders were selling the Jamaican dollar for as high as $98.00.

        Oh yes .... the same recession they denied for years? I recall during the debates Lisa Hanna stated that 74% of other countries have recovered from the recession.

        As for the clowns that may be in denial, they should remember that the dollar was stable ... even during the recession.
