  • The difference between COMPLETE and FINISHED

The Question: How do you explainthe difference between COMPLETE and FINISHED in a way that is easy tounderstand? Some people say there is no difference between the two.

Adolphus’s Answer: "When you marry the right woman, you are COMPLETE.
When you marry the wrong woman, you are FINISHED. And when the right onecatches you with the wrong one, you are COMPLETELY FINISHED!

    Claimed to be true -

No English dictionary has beenable to adequately explain the difference between the two words. In a recentlyheld linguistic competition in London, England, attended by the best in theworld, Adolphus James, a Jamaican man from Little London, was the clear winnerwith a standing ovation lasting over 5 minutes. Here is his answer, in which hereceived an invitation to dine with the Queen (who made a call to him after thecontest). He also won a trip to travel the world in style and a case of 25-yearold Appleton Rum, for his answer.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

I know this as a wedding toast (from Q).

A man is not complete until he marries....and then he is finished! LoL
