St. Catherine PC decides to investigate allegations of corruptionThe St. Catherine Parish Council has made an about turn concerning calls for a probe into allegations that a Councillor misused funds earmarked for road repairs in a division. In the wake of persistent claims from Councillor for the Bog Walk Division Dr. Raymonth Notice that the money was used to buy a piece of lanf on behalf of a citizen's association, the Council has decided to launch a formal probe.

During a meeting of the Finance Committee on Wednesday, Secretary Manager of the St. Catherine Parish Council, Franklin Smith, disclosed that the decision was made based on new information presented by Dr. Notice.

Members of the Council have asked that a report on the matter be tabled at next month's meeting of the Finance Committee.

Earlier this month, Council officials said they found no evidence to substantiate Dr. Notice's claim of the misuse of funds.
