Yes the West is fretting over this but can do little it seems to stop the Chinese plan to dominate Eurasia, South Asia & Africa....into LATAM and the Caribbean

China has $4 Trillion in reserves, fast growth, budget surpluses, rapidly developing tech... and an increasingly capable military. The West runs huge deficits papered over by forcing countries to hold and trade in their currencies. That's slowly changing as Russia, China, Iran and others move to trade in their national currencies via swaps. At some point it is inevitable that the dollar will come under pressure and devalue. Being forced to live within our means with reduced access to cheap credit would be a game changer in American life

Crazy neo-con policy has now also driven Russia with it's enormous natural resources + huge nuclear arms.... right into China's embrace. For China, Russia is just a tool...but a HUGE one that may give it a strategic advantage one day when the shiit hits the fan.

Smarter US policy would have separated those 2 by playing ball with Russia. That would at a minimum...bought us more time to manage the crisis. China is actually the biggest winner by far in this UKraine BS

Or it may be that the neo-cons in the government (who represent the ruling oligarchs) wouldn't mind a war sooner rather than later. They may be betting that later may be...too late

China's two domestic High Speed Rail (HSR) manufacturers, China North Railway (CNR) and China South Railway (CSR), now control the country's entire HSR market. By 2014, just six years after the launch of China's first HSR passenger service, there was 16,000 km of tracks, connecting most major cities.

However, building more than half of the world's total HSR lines in ten years is just the beginning, as there are plans to add another 16,000 km of track by 2020. Not just satisfied with domestic expansion, China has been ambitiously extending its influence beyond its borders
