I get the feeling Trump is working on another scam.

He has not officially spent any of his personal funds on the campaign. All the money that he has put in has been loans which can be repayed from contributions. Of course he has spent a lot of the "borrowed" funds with his own businesses.

Last week he CLAIMED that he had forgiven the $50 million in loans, but it now turns out he is yet to do that:
