CDC adds two popular island getaways to 'very high' Covid-19 travel risk list

Two tropical islands half a world apart and popular with tourists -- Jamaica in the Caribbean and Sri Lanka in South Asia -- are now among the highest-risk destinations for travelers.

Correct, and as our PM had the commendable honesty to admit he is also part of the "we" that did this. Now let's see what he does going forward. I am mainly in agreement with the sentiments in this article. DON'T ASK IF IT WAS ABOUT THE MONEY...you know the rest.

...but it can be done! NY had a concert a few weeks ago, everyone had to be vaccinated. Promoters in JA can use the same approach. The gov't in the early days of the pandemic floated the idea of a "health passport" the term Bartlett used at the time. They need to go that route. Anyone who wants to attend an event MUST be vaccinated.

The government cannot mandate private businesses to vacinate ( But ) it can mandate its institutions to do such, e.g anyone coming into a government entity must provide proof of vaccination (free) or proof of a negative test ( test at their own cost - out of their pockets ) not the government. In that way ,if you step on a government bus - show proof, school- show proof, colleges and universities - show proof, working in the police department & soldiers show proof, walk into the tax office, motor vehicle department, hospitals, courts ,post office - show proof.

          Make it miserable for them.

THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"Good things come out of the garrisons" after his daughter won the 100m Gold For Jamaica.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

Well we could have a government and private sector partnership but in order for it to work the citizenry lives must be made to know it will be misreable and when you give jamaicans the option of paying out of pocket for services or free or less hassle, you know whey we aguh do.

              Free up di vaccine

Bricktop, if you think the people who frequently buys a pound of chicken and a pound of sugar from the neighborhood store or the party promoters influenced the PM... then you are even dumber than I thought .
Different scales were being used from the get go.

100 % correct Rockman. It was about the money. If the cheerleading crew says otherwise well the evidence has been published for anyone who can put 20% together. As the article said we need to move forward but don't **** on the people and tell them it's raining.
                  It's always about the money.

so you're saying that bigwigs in the business community pressured anju to open up the entertainment industr?!?!? how does that correlate? nevermind that the business community has been calling for later curfew hours and anju has rejected their suggestion...dumbest logic ever...but par for the course from a lil X disciple...

Where are the video clips of tourists running from JCF vehicles because of the all island restrictions imposed by curfew?
Just like how voters were the sacrificial lambs for your party to have the majority seats in Parliament , poor people remain vulnerable to the stranglehold policies of a leader who has perpetual hiccups.

And this is happening all before the cold and flu season.. I see where the government is suspending giving out the first dose of Phizer , and saving the other half for the second dose. I can tell you what worked well in Canada Ontario. They extended the period of the second dose from the guideline of 21 days out which they say is perfectly safe so they can administer more first doses. So if you had 1000 does common sense would say you give 500 and save the rest but in Canada they gave all 1000 which covered more people and then did the second dose maybe 3mts later and it was perfectly save. The 21 days is not a hard requirement.
