SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT

The current administration has not been particular effective in exploiting the synergies between sports and entertainment. We believe that we can earn sizable income from the staging of sports and music festivals. The inflows from the sale of television rights to such events would be sizable. We believe that we have on our team the requisite skills to produce such events, we also have the willingness to call on outside expertise whenever necessary.

True, the current administration has tried to integrate sports and entertainment but its efforts have been clumsy, thus, failing to maximize on the full potential of the sports and entertainment synergy.

PLAYING FACILITIES

There is an obvious need to improve the playing facilities across the island. Some clubs have managed to have facilities of reasonably high standard while many do not. We need to have more venues aspiring to international standards.

We do not believe that good playing facilities are going to mushroom as a result of some executive fiat or threat of administrative sanction. This seems to be the policy of the current administration. The JFF needs to assist the clubs across the island to build playing facilities of acceptable standards.

The JFF should also establish a database of best practices in order to provide valuable information to aspiring clubs on how to finance the construction of their sporting facilities and the improvement of their operations.
