...but too often, particularly against inferior opposition he played the role of a prima dona. He had the other players playing 'hewers of wood and drawers of water'.

For a top drawer player he gave away 'our ball' much too often...and too often 'sat around' awaiting delivery of same from his 'hewers of wood and drawers of water'. I do not think Fergie will stand for that.
