they join clubs when they are sold at 17 years old...the academy is their "club" until such time...try and not contaminate the product by exposing them to Waterhouse vs Savannah FC...your mish mash strategy is noted and has been rubbished...got it now skippy?
The national (i.e. JFF) Academy would only accept and retain yutes starting at 8-10 y.o. capable of being developed into pro ballas
If yutes join clubs and are released by their clubs into the national Academy...
which "clubs" are you referring to that these 8 year olds are being "released" from? woiee mi pegasus hotel in portmore
Choosing say 10 through 30 kids at age 10 as only ones worthy of expert instruction is a fool's plan. Makes no sense that being the alpha and omega of any football youth player development plan for my country.
you seem lost Karl...more like 300 kids...technical emphasis at that stage...14 -17 is tactics, team formations and game strategy...less games more focus on training...i mean this is nothing new Karl...thee is a blueprint in place
Disclaimer: I have not re-read your suggestions on development of our talented youngster to fullest potential.
So...
- The Academy as proposed by Bricktop, Gamma and the lot is built on the premise that our most talented youngsters are already being unearthed.
I disagree!
I contend that the sensible position is, TALENT ABOUNDS! ...thus it is to be found from the hills of Cedar Valley or Mavis Bank or elsewhere on the slopes of the Blue Mountains to the plains of Vere...from Morant Point in the East to Negril Point in the West...in short across the entire island.
There must be a system that is seamless...that shall seamlessly unearth our talented matters not where in the island they be....and move that talent through the various development stages...psychosocial and as demanded specific to football. My position is, any other method is a disservice to the talented.
It should not be hard to see that the position I have taken is rooted in:
- leaving no talented youngster behind;
- ensuring that the numbers of good quality footballers produced a) allows for improved play at all levels...lead to ease in production of quality TEAMs at all levels; b) products - i.e. players and TEAMs - that shall for the bedrock of a vibrant FOOTBALL INDUSTRY.
- A so-suh stand alone Academy without underlying foundation is akin to High School without quality preparation at the kindergarten, preparatory and primary stages.
Such a system as proposed would cause:
- 1. There would be no real search for our best talents as vast swathes of the country and therefore great pool of our talented youngsters would remain 'undiscovered' and thus abandoned.
- 2. Has built in continued inculcating of ignorance on knowledge of the game and how it should be played driving underproduction of recruits in all areas - administration, knowledgeable spectators (mothers, fathers - household within which our talented reside and our fan base is created -, players, etc.
In short what Bricktop, Gamma, and others propose is a system that perpetuates ignorance and at best ensures slow growth/less than maximum rate of progression.
It would be akin to a need for producing 90%+ level of academic competence of graduates but having poor teachers at levels below the final year of the graduate class. A nonsense policy!!!

Karl the longest journey can only begin with the first step. I've outlined a few creative first steps that even bruk pakit Jamaican afford. You counter with what a fully developed, fully financed system might look like.
Two different development stages dat mi bredrin. Not directly comparable
Any guy can look up some football development or academy system operating in a more advanced country... regurgitate it here ... then say that's what Jamaica should do... That actually doesn't take much effort or creative thought.
Just parroting what well endowed foreigners do in football development probably indicates a lack of experience implementing projects in bruk pakit JA from ground up

karl what you have stated is RANK falsehood. when and where have i posited such a premise? i have never pegged you as a liar, don't start now, PLEASE. i read no farther than the above that has been underlined. it is one thing to answer a question that was not asked or to assume that you know the purpose of a quuestion and to adress it from your misunderstanding, it is quite another to perptuate falsehood.
..and mi dun show unnu areddy how it can get technical staffing affordably... The Grand Brazil Bargain
So what's all the yappin about?????
Oh... unnu waan know how fi recover CAPEX & cover Recurrent exp??
Yes Tilla.... the usual suspects sponsorship, naming rights etc... but another income income stream is:
The national (i.e. JFF) Academy would only accept and retain yutes starting at 8-10 y.o. capable of being developed into pro ballas
If yutes join clubs and are released by their clubs into the national Academy and are subsequently developed to professional status...clubs will be required to pay the Academy a % of the transfer fees paid by 3rd party foreign (and local clubs) to acquire the player. For unattached players the Academy gets 100%
The national Academy therefore would have a financial interest in producing the best players it can..
That completes the virtuous circle of youth development... TALENT-ADMINISTRATION-TECHNICAL TRAINING-FUNDING... all covered
Case closed
