Youth Players - Plant the SEEDS, Nurture them, and watch them Grow.

Over 6 years ago, US Soccer launched a program aimed at developing better youth development coaches. They improved the certification standards & developed a national coaching curriculum, among other things. These are some of the European clubs that have signed U.S. youth players, since 2014 –

    Liverpool F.C. (EPL)
    Chelsea F.C. (EPL)
    Manchester United F.C. (EPL)
    West Bromwich Albion F.C. (EPL)
    UD Las Palmas (La Liga)
    Villarreal CF (La Liga)
    Atletico Madrid (La Liga)
    Sevilla FC (La Liga)
    FC Barcelona (La Liga)
    FC Schalke 04 (Bundesliga)
    VfL Wolfsburg (Bundesliga)
    TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (Bundesliga)
    Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga)
    SC Freiburg (Bundesliga)
    ACF Fiorentina (Serie A)
    Paris Saint-Germain FC (Ligue 1)
    AFC Ajax (Eredivisie)
    FC Utrecht (Eredivisie)

    Hannover 96 (2. Bundesliga)
    1. FC Kaiserslautern (2. Bundesliga)
    VfB Stuttgart (2. Bundesliga)
    Fulham F.C. (Championship)
    Reading F.C. (Championship)

NOTE: 10 U.S. youth players have joined clubs in the 1st group this year (2016).

***A $2M offer from Juventus FC, for a 18 year old, was rejected.

HOW MANY JAMAICAN YOUTH PLAYERS COULD BE SIGNED TO THESE CLUBS, IF THEY RECEIVED QUALITY DEVELOPMENT???

Preach. USAF no other nation in central america and the Caribbean is set up to churn out coaches in that volume except JA and Cuba, given the athletic infrastructure. We have sports colleges we have the raw seals, what we lack is direction.

Don't forget that Jamaica also has expertise, in youth development, waiting to be utilized.......This expertise could also help develop partnerships, in the U.S., Germany & England, to help provide quality practical training for local coaches.

            Is it financially cheaper ?

OK!!! I'm on it.......I can get some Blue Contacts. That won't cost too much.......Hydrogen Peroxide & Relaxer is cheap, so that straight, white hair is no problem.......The skin bleaching will take some time, so let me call my contacts in China to get a large, steady supply ASAP.......While they're doing the skin bleaching, I'll have Hans help them get that German accent just right.......I Got This.

LOL...There you have it. The psychology of "proper" imagery is critical to some folks

You mean is it cheaper to import players (on a just-in-time inventory basis) rather than to build an appropriate national development system?

A system from U-10 to seniors with good, qualified coaching via an accredited coaching school, development of a national playing philosophy and supervising it from juniors to seniors, say 2-3 month rotating camps throughout the year (not just 4 weeks before regional competitions ) structured tracking of player progress with data analytics, regular tours to play strong opposition abroad, good health & nutrition support, hosting foreign teams for practice on a programmed basis, improved fields etc etc etc etc....

                  You tell me

But what APPEARS cheaper in the short run....is far more expensive and TOTALLY wasteful to our yutes long term.

20 years after our only WCQ...... WE HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED!!!! We just completely lost 2 decades with the JFF's fcukery

Kingsman is dying for the day when those youth players replace the current dumb ones currently playing for the US.

Just think on it: The US built its current reputation on ordinary players sensibly sharing the ball as they worked hard as hell for FULL match. Now these guys are trying to play at technical skill levels they do not have and have now ignored playing that full commitment to sharing the ball and working hard as hell for FULL match.

The irony is these players are far better technically than their earlier counter-parts yet by ignoring the basics - commonsense use of space and ball = same tried and true earlier movement and passing and working FULL 100 for entire match they are chipping away at destroying their earlier brothers hard won reputation. They should all be required to study the US women teams efforts and commonsense displays. The Women play far better football!
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

Klinsmann's actions (players he calls to camp & those he selects) doesn't suggest that he's interested in moving away from the "current dumb ones".......He continues to call & select players like Beckerman, Zusi, Orozco, Wondolowski, etc., who I brand "The Tried & Failed", when there are better, younger & more dynamic players in the player pool (the largest in US Soccer history), he was instrumental in building.

That "sensibly sharing the ball as they worked hard as hell for FULL match" that you speak of was because players back then 1. developed chemistry from playing together & that was an important part of the national training sessions, 2. they knew the system that the national team played, and 3. they selected the players that could effectively & efficiently execute the game plan.

If there are BETTER players, then the TEAM should be playing BETTER quality soccer.......If that's not happening, then the problem lies with the HEAD COACHES, at U17, U20, U23 & USMNT.

Wow what novel concepts!!! "Playing together regularly" "Developing chemistry" "national team playing system"

These are very strange things for Jamaicans....Just where can we learn this new stuff?????????????

From '14 (after the WC) to early this year, the USMNT played a lot of games, BUT Klinsmann kept changing the lineups and not using some players in their strongest position, yet he kept telling the press that there was no cohesion in the TEAM.
