Mo stop acting as if UWI is infallible. I know you will hasten to defend UWI (as many try to belittle the institution). UWI could be better but it's a reflection of the society. How many local corps invest in research at UWI?

My point was to show that a dept. can't invite someone to speak (especially a an artist/DJ with influence among the youth) on issues that run counter to their work. Did the physics dept. at your school invite any flat earth theorist to speak with media and all?

BTW you don't have to say you went to a good school because most of the tertiary institutions in the US are good.

I guess so. In Kartel's case it's the issue of justifying the bleaching of his skin. Branted it wasn't done to do a research on how society would react to him with a lighter pigmentation. If UWI has a dept. for African studies or Black history; the Kartel lecture just closed down their dept.

Not Kartel's fault though. Check Ja's history (start 1928)

Why was it an all-time low?

Do controversial artistes not speak at universities all over the world all the time?

If Ice T or Snoop were allowed to do a speech at UWI would you feel the same way? Think before you answer.

and when some a we who deh a foriegn a badmouth the pickney them and a blame dancehall and everything else while them run left the pickney them without parenting or support.

If we want to deal with real problems that is affecting Jamaica let us start at basic family values starting with nuff man- nuff gall which result in too many kids without parents who are left to fend for themselves and others to influence them.
