We did not have a smooth transition through the middle third via the miggle of di field.. thats because we did not have a player that could run di miggle of di field playing possesion ball.. our predictable flank passes with the occasional switching of the field (by passing middle) was easy to defend and did not allow us superior possession..

By the time we developed our plays down the flanks the defenders had already closed down and were positioned.. eeidah way luton cyaan cross fi save him life... our plays must be designed to get number in or around the box ready for final pass.. that cannot be done with long ball or man a race down the wing with ball (Luton).. him just outrun everybody..

If we cannot produce plays from the middle of the field while transitioning numbers into the final third then is problems..

Beckford seem to have good ball handling skills. Noticed how he dispatched those two defenders then before attempting to shoot on goal? Should have passed to Shelton however for us to have a better chance of scoring. Had he scored though, we would be singing his praises this today.

My guess is the slowest man on that team is Javier Mascherano...and he can only be called slow because of comparison to his teammates....i.e. possible slowest of Barcelona players.

One look at the Bracelona players when in flight against opponent and most often the Barcelona player wins the foot race!

Anyway we can all keep this "speed thing" in mind when viewing another Barcelona game and each draw our own conclusion.
